Arthur's mission is simple: put the insights and analytics once reserved for insiders into the hands of every collector, advisor, gallerist and artist, so every decision in the art market is an informed one.
Founder Story
The contrast hit me the moment I walked into my first gallery. Having worked on Wall Street for decades, every relevant fact about a company lives on one screen. The numbers tell a story on their own. That's just how markets work.
The art market has the same information — auction results, exhibition histories, gallery sales, bidder identities, museum collections, media mentions going back decades. It just never assembles into anything you can act on. Everything you need exists somewhere. It just never finds you in the same place. So I built Arthur for myself. It grew from there.

Frequently Asked Questions
Arthur is the most comprehensive art market platform that exists. Auction results back to the 1990s. Verified exhibition histories. Primary market sales. Art fair previews. Bidder and underbidder identities. Museum donations. Analytics you won’t find anywhere else. All in one place, built to look as good as the art it displays. Art Exchange, our built-in marketplace, lets you buy, sell, lend and borrow directly — commission-free and anonymous. Direct messaging connects you to collectors, advisors, gallerists, curators and artists across the platform. Everything you need to move in this market. In one place.
Collectors, advisors, gallerists, curators, artists — anyone who takes the art market seriously. If your work involves researching an artist’s market, tracking exhibition history, prepping for a fair or finding the right buyer or seller, Arthur was built for you.
Arthur works like Instagram. You only see what you follow. Follow the artists, galleries, museums, foundations, curators and critics that matter to you — and your dashboard reflects exactly that. Nothing more, nothing less.
General AI models are trained on the public web. They don’t have Arthur’s crowdsourced gallery sales, licensed exhibition histories, auction results back to the 1990s or bidder intelligence. They can’t tell you which museums are actively seeking work. They can’t connect you directly to the collectors, advisors and gallerists actually moving the market — or let you buy and sell anonymously, commission-free with thousands of collectors notified the same day. AI can answer a question. Arthur is how you work.
Arthur combines licensed data with crowdsourced and public sources. Our licensing partners: Artfacts in Berlin for exhibition histories. ArtDAI in New Hampshire for auction results covering 99% of Fine Art and Design volume since the 1990s. Museum Exchange in New York for intelligence on museums actively seeking donations. The BaerFaxt in New York for bidder and underbidder insights. Gallery sales and art fair previews come directly from users on the platform. Online listings are publicly scraped. We’re transparent about the distinction — because it matters.
Our auction data comes from ArtDAI — the same source the world’s largest insurers, lenders and auction houses rely on. It covers roughly 99% of global fine art and design auction volume back to the 1990s, across the top sixty auction houses worldwide. We don’t track small regional sales. That’s deliberate. The top sixty are where real price discovery happens. The result is a cleaner, more reliable price signal — which is what matters when you’re valuing a work or building conviction in an artist’s market.
Most art-market platforms focus on one slice of the market: listings, auction results, exhibition records, news or basic artist profiles. Arthur brings those workflows together with exhibition depth, auction results, comprehensive artist profiles, direct messaging and a zero-commission marketplace. One place. No one else does it.
Art Exchange is Arthur’s built-in marketplace. Buy, sell, lend and borrow directly between collectors — free, anonymous, zero commission. Everyone on Arthur who follows that artist gets notified the day a new work is listed. And if you’re not ready to commit, the lend-and-borrow option lets you live with a work before you buy.
Arthur is currently free. When the paywall goes up, we expect pricing to land at $600 a year. One subscription, everything included.
