Three new reasons to open Arthur
Arthur announces Headline News and Your News feeds, nationality auction filters, and targeted Art Exchange alerts.
Three things went live this month. Each one makes it easier to follow the artists and institutions you actually care about.
All the art-world news, in one place
The Home page is Headline News: the market-moving stories, the ones the art world views as most salient and relevant. It pulls from over 200 fine art publications, from the Financial Times, The New Yorker, and The New York Times down to Hyperallergic and Artforum, plus videos and podcasts. The same front page for every member.
Want it narrowed to your world? The Your News tab is built only from the artists, galleries, and institutions you follow: nothing else in the way.
We’ve also added our own reporting. Eileen Kinsella, who spent years breaking stories at Artnet News, now writes the Arthur beat: original editorials you won’t find anywhere else.
Filter the auction database by artist nationality
You can now filter auction results by an artist’s nationality. Say you want to see how Brazilian modernists or a generation of Korean painters are coming to auction: you can isolate a nationality and read the whole field at once. It’s a quick way to spot which national schools are gaining depth, and it gives you cleaner comparables when you’re weighing one artist against their peers.
The Art Exchange now reaches the right people
Listings on the Art Exchange are free. And now, the moment you post a work to buy, sell, lend, or borrow, every member who follows that artist gets notified. Free, anonymous, and pointed straight at the collectors most likely to care: no fees, no middle layer, no broadcasting to people who’ll never bite.
